You may be used to pop-up bars in D.C. being filled with bright colors and happy times, but this new bar may give you a little scare! Discover the new Halloween pop-up bar in Shaw this October!

From the team that brought you pop-up bars like Cherry Blossoms and Game of Thrones, PUB Dread enters the scene for 31 days to help us celebrate Halloween! Located in the same space that housed the other pop-ups in Shaw, the bar will be decorated from floor to ceiling with cobwebs, spiders, and other things that go bump in the night. Much like past pop-ups, this bar is all about the theatrics. There will be forms of strobe lights and neon lights, and there's sure to be a ton of fog throughout! PUB Dread features three themed rooms: a haunted forest, a dollhouse room, and the crypt that's made to look like a cemetery.
As for the drinks on hand, pumpkin beer and other Halloween-inspired beers from across the world will be available, and much like the Game of Thrones bar, themed cocktails will be served in creative cups ranging from skulls to Jack-o-Lanterns. The bar opens October 1 -- most likely to very long lines -- so plan to get there early! (Pro-tip: Many of the surrounding bars serve appetizers, in case you get hungry while you wait in line!). PUB Dread will be open Monday–Thursday, 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., and then from 1 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Sundays. Fall is here! And The Cheesecake Factory is totally on board.
