While Union Station may just be a transportation hub here in D.C., there are new restaurants, fast food shops, and even dessert spots that are opening up in the new era of Union Station.

Many of us don't spend much time at Union Station. We're either using the Metro, getting to and from a train, or just running in quick to grab lunch. But that may change soon as Union Station is undergoing a transformation with more high-end fast-food joints and dessert spots so you actually spend time in the building. This is another Mediterranean Chipotle-style fast-food restaurant. This place has been popping up all over D.C. the past few years and this would be the first Cava to open up in the Northeast! The lines are sure to be long, so once it opens up, make sure to check it out fast.

This iconic shop now has locations in Georgetown and the Northeast. This makes it one of only eight Ladurees in the United States. This is the perfect place to pick up treats or even gifts for friends, family, and colleagues. There's a café where you can grab a drink and light food. Enjoy high tea and snack on some macaroons and other sweet treats.

The restaurant should be open by 2018 and will certainly be a hot spot for those working lunches!
