Denver beer has become a resounding component of our culture. With tons of breweries and more popping up, it’s no surprise Denver is more of a beer city than a wine city.
Denver beer culture is making a name for itself. According to the Brewers Association, who did a national ranking, Denver’s beer business is a lot more booming than our wine businesses. How did they find these results, you ask?“Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) with a population of one million or more were ranked by their concentration of beer - or wine-related businesses per 10,000 residents,” according to the report’s writers. Apparently Denver was nowhere near ranking on the wine list. But we’re cool with that. Colorado is home to 10 percent of the nation's craft breweries. Denver alone is home to 58 craft breweries and brewpubs. We’re also not surprised, given that Denver beer businesses earned 38 medals (13 golds) at the Great American Beer Festival this year. Oh yeah, that was also held in Denver. If that doesn’t scream beer lovin’ I don’t know what does. Congrats to Denver on its ranking. Raise a glass to celebrate and cross your fingers we make #1 next year!
