Warning: The burger you are about to see is not for the faint of heart.
2020 was a trainwreck and to commemorate the disaster, Burger King Brazil created a burger that sums up everything that happened over the past year. The fast-food restaurant took everyone’s desire for the year to end and reimagined those feelings into a patty that’s definitely hard to swallow.
Burger King Brazil polled social media fans across the country to identify ingredients that defined what 2020 meant to them. They then took those ingredients and created the 2020 sandwich—a burger filled with chicken feet, overcooked noodles, sardines, caramel sauce, and Tutti-Frutti Jell-O. A burnt bun tops off the entire meal, giving customers a crisp end to their 2020 woes.
The fast-food chain then gave lucky fans the opportunity to try this 2020-themed burger and recorded it for the whole world to see. They posted shots of the burger as well as the fans' reactions to eating the sandwich. At the end of the day, the taste-testers found the burger to be just as unpalatable, disgusting, and hard to swallow as 2020.
"This product will definitely not be marketed in Burger King restaurants," Burger King's YouTube post reads. "Unless 2020 doesn't end in December, which would actually be worse than any sandwich."
Although the burger won't be available for purchase (thank goodness!), the video has created a lot of great marketing for the fast-food chain. In fact, Burger King's marketing efforts have truly excelled despite the woes of the coronavirus crisis. From the introduction of a new dollar menu to the invention of burger conveyor belts, the company has definitely come out on top this year.
So, how do you feel about the 2020 burger? Would you be brave enough to try it? Let us know in the comments!
