Trick-or-Treat! Find me some "booritos" to eat!

Forget the candy this Halloween. Instead, score some free burritos from Chipotle! This year, the restaurant is going virtual and dishing out some sweet treats and spooky good deals.

Chipotle is teaming up with the video game company Roblox to open a virtual restaurant for Halloween. The restaurant will open on October 28 at 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET and allow fans to dress up in a Halloween costume and trick-or-treat virtually. The first 30,000 Roblox users who visit the virtual cashier in the restaurant wearing a costume every day of the promotion will receive a promo code for a free burrito to be used in real life on the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com until November 14.

If you're not one of the first 30,000 users to check out at the virtual restaurant, you can also try your hand at a virtual maze and get some exclusive items for your virtual avatar.

"As a digital innovator, we are always experimenting on new platforms to meet our guests where they are," said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle. "Roblox's popularity has boomed over the past year, and we know our fans will be excited to celebrate the next evolution of Boorito in the metaverse."

So, how do you enter the virtual world and cash out on the deals? The virtual restaurant will be available at https://www.roblox.com/chipotle on October 28. Before visiting the restaurant, you will be able to pick out a Chipotle-inspired costume for your Roblox character, including a Chip Bag Ghost, Burrito Mummy, Spicy Devil, and Guacenstein. Once you complete your spooky look, you will enter the restaurant and visit the cashier.

After the virtual restaurant, users will then proceed to the Boorito Maze. Here, you must collect ingredients to gain superpowers and avoid the monsters coming at you throughout the maze. If you reach the center of the maze, you'll win free, exclusive Chipotle-themed virtual goodies for your Roblox character. These goodies will change every day so you must log in each day to collet them all.

Chipotle will also donate some of the proceeds of the sale of in-game Roblox items to a charity that supports young farmers.

If you're not tech or game savvy, Chipotle is offering a real-world deal that does not require participation in the Roblox virtual community. Chipotle lovers across the nation can get a $5 burrito, bowl, salad, or taco from 5 p.m. until closing on Halloween night by using the digital promo code "BOORITO" at checkout on the Chipotle app or at Chipotle.com. The deal is limited to one transaction and will only work on October 31. Guests must use the code online and will not be able to redeem at the cashier's in-restaurant.

So, are you spooked yet? Let us know in the comments if you're able to snag one of the free "booritos" this year and have a happy and spooky Halloween!
