Truth be told, not many people in Mexico celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Just like Saint Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo has turned into a yearly opportunity for Americans to go out drinking. And there's nothing wrong with that! But, if you are going to throw back a few Coronas or Margaritas in honor of this seldom celebrated Mexican military holiday, do so responsibly! The Washington Regional Alcohol Program is offering free Lyft rides through its SoberRide service. Free rides will be available between 7 p.m. on Friday night and 4 a.m. on Saturday morning and will only be available for the first 1,500 customers. The WRAP will pay the first $15 of your fare, so you will have to pay for anything over that. No, this promotion is not just limited to the District of Columbia. Riders are eligible for the free $15 fare anywhere within Lyft's Washington DC's coverage area (shown below), which includes much of Northern Virginia as well as Southern Maryland.
