I'll take a side of chips with snot-colored cheese dip, please.
Companies have been experimenting with food science lately by combining foods or dipping sauces to create some questionable concoctions. For instance: Mayochup, Kranch, and Cadbury Creme Egg-Flavored Mayonaise.
Most recently, Dutch company Daily Dairy has created a guacamole-style cheese (what?) that will be sold starting May 1 in The Fresh Market grocery stores, just in time for Cinco de Mayo. To clarify ... guacamole + gouda cheese + guacamole spices = guacamole cheese.
The cheese is a mixture of gouda-style cheese, avocado, lime juice, chili, tomato, onion, and garlic (ingredients normally found in guacamole) and has been named Amanti Guacamole Cheese.
It's being sold in stores for $24.99/pound.
Have they gone too far?
What a way to be the hostess with the mostest! How do you think your guests would react to melted guacamole cheese served with their chips? I mean, if you're gonna be dipping chips in both queso and guac anyway, I guess this saves a step! #savingtime #efficiency
(Side Note: This green guacamole cheese reminds me of the avocado shampoo at Lush. We just need to make sure we don't confuse the two!)
Will this guacamole cheese amp up your Cinco de Mayo celebration? Are you willing to give it a try? Does it look appetizing? Tell us your thoughts and feelings in the comments.
