The doughnuts are turning green for St. Patrick’s Day this year.

For most of America, St. Patrick’s Day was a bust last year due to the coronavirus. So, it only makes sense that we should all make every effort to overdo it this year. Krispy Kreme is making sure we all have plenty of cute and tasty doughnuts to get us through the holiday with some super cute doughnuts. The doughnut chain is selling four different St. Patrick’s Day doughnuts decorated with festive decorations including one that looks like a unicorn. On March 16 and 17, the original glazed doughnuts will be tinted green like the river in Chicago.

Krispy Kreme has created four specialty doughnuts for St. Patrick’s Day including two sprinkle versions, an original doughnut topped with white and green icing and sprinkled with gold coin sprinkles, and a green iced doughnut with shamrock sprinkles. A lucky unicorn doughnut is a creme-filled original doughnut decorated to resemble those unicorn cakes from Instagram, complete with a gold horn and eyelashes. Finally, the lucky leprechaun is a hole-less doughnut filled with cookies and creme filling, decorated with green icing and a tiny leprechaun hat.

Krispy Kreme is encouraging fans to wear green into the store (or drive-thru) and get a sweet reward.

“Come get a taste of our Luck O’ the Doughnuts Collection now through St. Patrick’s Day. And to top it off, on March 16th and 17th, you’ll get a free, delicious green O’riginal Glazed doughnut if you wear green!” said Krispy Kreme Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena.

Free green doughnuts are only available on March 16 and 17 and limited one to a customer. The specialty doughnuts will only be available through St. Patrick's Day, so hurry in before they're gone!
