Lately, everyone's been talking about the solar eclipse. Even Krispy Kreme is getting in on the action! For a limited time only, the doughnut chain will debut a new take on the original glazed doughnut: chocolate glazed doughnuts, in honor of the eclipse.

For only three days, Krispy Kreme will be offering customers a chance to take a bite of the solar eclipse with the first-ever chocolate version of the iconic original glazed doughnuts. This announcement comes days after releasing the new Reese's Peanut Butter Cups doughnuts. The original glazed doughnuts will be "eclipsed" by chocolate glaze in honor of the total solar eclipse that's happening on August 21. If you're a doughnut lover, you're not going to want to miss out on this limited treat! It will be available all day on Monday, August 21, in addition to "Hot Light" hours during the evening on August 19 and 20. "Hot Light" hours signal that doughnuts are hot, coming directly off the line. You can stay updated on the hours by downloading the Krispy Kreme app. Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, said in a press release,
The solar eclipse is a rare occasion providing a total sensory experience for viewers across the continental U.S. Chocolate will have the same effect as we introduce a first-time chocolate glazing of our iconic Original Glazed Doughnut. The Chocolate Glazed Doughnut is a delicious way to experience the solar eclipses -- no matter where you are -- and we can't wait for fans to try it."
