Attention, Class of 2020!

With closings and cancellations across the country due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, high school and college seniors won’t be getting to walk across a stage and get that much-earned recognition and handshake.

While there are many virtual graduation performances and televised speeches planned—such as Barack and Michelle Obama’s YouTube graduation ceremonies and iHeart Radio’s podcast commencement speeches featuring John Legend, Tim McGraw, Jimmy Fallon, and more—Krispy Kreme wanted to add something extra special and sweet for the Class of 2020. And who doesn’t love Krispy Kreme?

Krispy Kreme has created a special Graduate Dozen box of doughnuts. The graduation year is spelled out in three rows of four doughnuts and decorated with the numbers "2020." Sprinkles and icing drizzles bring on the bling.

Flavors include:

  • Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles
  • Strawberry Iced with Sprinkles
  • Chocolate Iced Kreme-Filled
  • Strawberry Iced Kreme-Filled
  • Cake Batter Filled
  • Yellow Iced Original Glazed

Krispy Kreme’s free limited-edition Graduate Dozen will be available Tuesday, May 19, at participating Krispy Kreme locations in the U.S. The senior must be present to receive the free dozen. High school or college seniors can visit their location in their cap and gown or in “Class of 2020” accessories or apparel, such as a t-shirt, a letterman jacket, a 2020 class ring, a student ID stating 2020 senior status, or other 2020 items.

According to a company press release, Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme said,

“We feel for all of the high school and college seniors. We wish they had that moment of walking across the stage and getting their diploma. We can’t replace that … but we thought we could help them safely have a little fun and enjoy a special ‘Graduate Dozen’ on us. Moms, dads, friends and family can buy this ‘Graduate Dozen’ all week long to honor their favorite graduates, but only seniors can get one for free.”

Can’t get to Krispy Kreme on May 19, but still want to purchase the Graduate Dozen special-edition doughnuts? They will be available for purchase from May 18-24 at participating Krispy Kreme shops across the U.S. in the drive-thru and by ordering online at Krispy Kreme’s website or app for door-side pickup or delivery.
