The seafood spice-flavored vodka will be ready just in time for crab season.

Old Bay fans will soon have a new option behind the bar. McCormick and Company, the owner of the popular Maryland seafood seasoning, is partnering with George’s Beverage Company to create an Old Bay-flavored Vodka.

The six-times-distilled craft vodka will be available for sale in Maryland and Delaware sometime in the middle of March.

Over the years, Old Bay has been successfully paired with a number of products, including hot sauce, popcorn, and ice cream—so, why not vodka?

"Old Bay has been a fan-favorite for over 75 years in the Chesapeake Bay region and beyond," said Jill Pratt, Chief Marketing Excellence Officer, McCormick. "Our fans are loyal and passionate when it comes to all things Old Bay. We're thrilled to work with George's to bring the one-of-a-kind flavor of Old Bay to fans in entirely new, exciting, and innovative ways.”

A website dedicated to Old Bay vodka has recipes for vodka pasta sauce, drunken shrimp, and more than a dozen cocktails.

George’s Beverage Company is Maryland-based and specializes in pre-made cocktail mixes, and their lineup includes an Old Bay Bloody Mary mix. They are partnering with a craft distillery in Frederick, Maryland, called McClintock Distilling to produce the vodka.

In 2020, McCormick launched Old Bay hot sauce on its website and it sold out within minutes. After it was introduced in grocery stores, the product sold so well McCormick promised to keep it on as a permanent product. The company has not disclosed the retail price of the Old Bay Vodka.
