The cookie house kit is a nod to the brand’s annual decorating contest, called the PEEPshow.
After a hiatus over the winter holidays, marshmallow PEEPS® are back in a big way. Just Born, the company that makes the sugared marshmallow chicks, is celebrating big with new flavors, merchandise, and a recipe web series. Part of the PEEPS holiday tradition has been decorating with PEEPS and bunnies, making the chicken coop kit the perfect Easter craft. The introduction of the cookie coop comes on the heels of the annual PEEPS decorating contest taking place in March.
Similar to a gingerbread house kit, it comes with cookies, icing, and everything you need to create your own cookie coop. The kit has sugar cookie panels, icing to glue the panels together, and candy decorations. It even has cardboard figurines and PEEPS marshmallow chicks. The kit contains two chicken cookie coops and is available exclusively at BJ’s Warehouse stores. You must be a member to buy the cookie coops, but they can be shipped to your home.
Every year, Just Born holds a PEEPS decorating show called the “PEEPshow.” This year the contest will be held both virtually and in person at the TownMall in Westminster, Maryland. Just put together the most creative PEEPS diorama, sculpture, mixed media, or video piece and register it for the contest. The public will vote online and in-person to determine the winners of the contest. In-person entries will be accepted until March 1, 2021, and virtual entries will be accepted until March 22, 2021.
The sculptures will be on display at the TownMall of Westminster and online beginning Friday, March 26, 2021, through Monday, April 5, 2021. Visitors can view the submissions in person and buy chips to mark their favorites. A PEEPS pop-up gift shop will also be on-site filled with plenty of PEEPS merchandise and Easter basket fillers. For more information or to register for the PEEPshow, visit carrollcountyartscouncil.org.
