Nitro Pepsi is set to hit grocery store shelves in late March!
Pepsi is adding something new and innovative to its beverage lineup, a nitrogen-infused soda! Pepsi is the first soda company to pair nitrogen with cola.
Nitro Pepsi is made by slowly infusing nitro bubbles into the beverage mix, and it will be available in two flavors: regular and vanilla.

The main difference between nitro soda and traditional CO2 beverages is consistency. Nitrogen bubbles are smaller, producing a beverage that is smooth and foamy. If you love the taste of a perfectly calibrated soda from a restaurant soda fountain, you’ll probably like nitrogen-infused soda.
"Nitro Pepsi is a first-of-its-kind innovation that creates a smooth, creamy, delicious taste experience for fans everywhere, said Todd Kaplan, VP of Marketing for Pepsi. “Much like how nitrogen has transformed the beer and coffee categories, we believe Nitro Pepsi is a huge leap forward for the cola category and will redefine cola for years to come.”
Nitro Pepsi is kept fresh thanks to a special device at the bottom of the can. There are some rules about drinking Nitro Pepsi versus traditional soda. First, you don’t add ice. Grab your ice-cold can of Nitro Pepsi from the refrigerator and pour it straight into a glass. You can savor the taste and hold back the foam by drinking it through a straw.
Nitro-infused drinks have become popular in the last couple of years after being integrated with beer and coffee. Starbucks has an in-house coffee brew tap and several beer brands sell nitro blends in bars and stores.
Beverage companies have been pulling out all the stops to try and pull market share from competitors. Last year, Pepsi reintroduced Pepsi Blue, a berry cola originally launched in the early 2000s.
