Pepsi and Red Lobster are shaking things up in a new partnership that will add new items to the menu. The first item is a “DEW” Garita, a Mountain Dew version of the popular tequila cocktail. The new cocktail will appear at select Red Lobster restaurants in September and will roll out across the nation by the end of the year.
The DEW Garita is served over ice with an ingredients list that remains secret. Red Lobster hopes guests will enjoy the new drink with one of the restaurant's iconic side items—cheddar bay biscuits. A typical margarita is made with lime juice, sweet and sour mix, or orange liqueur. Mountain Dew is a citrus-flavored soda that was created in the 1940s as a mixer for whiskey. Unlike most citrus sodas, it contains caffeine and is popular with non-coffee drinkers as a pick-me-up.

PepsiCo and Red Lobster launched the new drink to promote the restaurant's addition of Pepsi products across the country. More creative offerings between the brands will be added to the menu in the near future.
"Red Lobster and PepsiCo both understand how much food and beverages enhance memorable moments, from casual gatherings with friends to milestone celebrations," said Hugh Roth, Chief Customer Officer, PepsiCo Global Foodservice. "With both of our brands on deck to wow guests, we can't wait to dream up more phenomenal flavor pairings together to bring some very special offerings and experiences to the table.”
Red Lobster is also expanding the number of Pepsi products available to guests beyond just the soda fountain. Bubly sparkling water, LIFEWTR, Stubborn Craft soda, and Tropicana beverages are just a few of the new beverage choices. The restaurant has expanded its to-go offerings during the pandemic with family meals and bottled beer and wine.
