Sunday, October 4, is National Taco Day, and Taco Bell is celebrating with a new app that allows you to send a taco to a friend. The taco e-gift has a unique url that, for $2, can be sent via email, text, or direct message from the Taco Bell app or website. To get the word out about the “Taco Gifter,” however, Taco Bell is giving away 10,000 free tacos on National Taco Day.
The Mexican fast-food chain is in the middle of streamlining its stores to better serve customers in a post-COVID world. In addtion to expanded drive-thru lanes and dedicated curbside parking, the company has also launched a new ordering app that includes rewards points for purchases made through the app. The new “Taco Gifter” feature allows people to share their love of Taco Bell tacos with friends and family. To celebrate the taco gifter, restaurants will be wrapping tacos in a special birthday-themed wrapper for a limited time.

To be one of the first people to try our the new taco gifter, tune in to Taco Bell’s social media on October 4 and wait for the signal. The first 10,000 people with an email address will get one free taco to send to anyone they wish. Each taco gift comes with an e-card that can be personalized for holidays, birthdays, and other special events. Taco gifts are regularly priced at $2 each and include the e-card and a small transaction fee.
