Intricately manicured landscaping? Check. Spiral staircase you can descend like a princess? Check. More than 10,000 interior square feet, complete with a wine cellar and spa? Check. Check. Check. Yep, it's a “Maryland Mansion.”

This impressive estate in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is described in its Sotheby's listing as “country-club style living,” but it could be more appropriate to say that you're buying a country club.

The residence features eight bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, four partial baths, and covered parking for five cars. There are also amenities to keep even the most discerning mansion-buyer happy, including a personal golf course and a beautiful pool. This listing by Sotheby's is at 15325 Masonwood Dr., Gaithersburg, MD 20878.

Entry spiral staircase

As you approach the home, the property is, of course, gated for privacy. The driveway splits and goes to a circle in front of the house with a unique octagonal garden in the middle, or a motor court between the home and the garage. A double staircase leads up to the covered front porch. A set of beautiful double doors leads us into the foyer.

The main level of the home features most of the rooms you'd expect—and some that might surprise you. There is a living room and a dining room, a kitchen that includes a breakfast area and is attached to a morning room and raised outdoor terrace, and a huge great room. There is also a bedroom that could be a workroom off of the attached two-car garage, and a den or study off of the living room.

Kitchen

In addition to this standard living space, there is a wing that includes a music parlor and an attached grand parlor that is massive. After all, what estate is complete without a ballroom? There are three complete guest suites, each with a walk-in closet and full bathroom, off of the grand parlor.

Master suite

The second level is smaller than the main level, but it still provides lots of space. There are two bedrooms, each with a closet and a full bathroom, a large laundry room, and the master suite. The master suite includes a huge master bedroom with sitting area, two walk-in closets, and a bathroom that is bigger than some apartments (over 300 square feet!).

The lower level features most of your mansion-caliber amenities: a gym, home theater, rec room, wine cellar, wet bar, and spa. This level also includes multiple powder rooms, plenty of storage space, and a huge gallery (maybe this could be your ballroom instead).

Wine Cellar

There is also a detached garage, connected to the home by a breezeway. It has room for three cars on the main level, includes storage on the lower level, and has a full apartment on the second level.

Pool and summer kitchen

Moving outside, there will always be plenty to do on this property. The raised terrace from the main level has stairs down to the pool area, and the covered patio walks directly out to the pool area. A massive outdoor kitchen, a hot tub, and a sports court (with lines and equipment for both tennis and basketball) will you keep you more than occupied.

And if not, there's always the nine-hole golf course that is all yours.
