Anybody have a spare $25 million somewhere?
Located near Aspen, Colorado, 2 Mile Ranch (formerly Rosemary’s Circle R Ranch) is located at 3448 Woody Creek Road, and it was just listed for sale around Christmas 2019.
This compound boasts seven houses (yes, seven!), which include 22 bedrooms and 23 bathrooms altogether. It sounds like the perfect place to move the whole extended family, and with 244 acres, there's still plenty of privacy. There's also room to grow as the property includes three additional developable sites.
The property is listed with Lane Johnson of Compass Aspen.
The Woody Creek estate house is 5,850 square feet and has a private pool and hot tub, five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and is designed in a “mountain contemporary”-style. A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, hardwood floors, amazing loft area, and huge windows make this a cozy and luxurious Colorado retreat. This house also has its own moat, which we can’t get enough of.
The homes on the property make up what's called the “village”, which we have detailed for you below.
The cottage (pictured above) sits at the center of the property and is a 3,650-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom space with secret passages and an antique elevator. A stone and wooden dining room straight out of medieval times is accented with stained glass windows and has a partial glass roof.
The Aspen Lodge is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom home located near the main estate house. The lodge has a master and guest suite, and a private office. With a rustic and open design, the home is spacious and welcoming, and features wooden and stone accents, like most of the other homes here.
The bunkhouse is not simply a place to crash, it's a luxurious mountain cabin that features a master suite, a four-person bunk room, two full bathrooms, and a private loft with a queen-size bed.
The craftsman’s house sits on the north side of the property near the creek. The 4,250-square-foot home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, lots of living space, a spacious kitchen with breakfast nook, and a garage.
A rustic log cabin near the other homes has a kitchen, bathroom, and loft sleeping area. Well-crafted and peaceful, it's a cozy spot.
Another modest three-bedroom, four-bathroom home sits near the cabin. The home is rustic and has a log-cabin feel; this one was recently updated with new finishes.
Along with the residential buildings, the ranch also has several outbuildings—including a large barn, agricultural buildings, smaller cabins, storage buildings, an outdoor rec center, a full-size basketball court, a tennis court, two natural ponds, outdoor gazebo, and private tree farm.
The entire ranch is also next to National Forest Land, so you can go exploring right in your backyard. As the listing says, "With world-class fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, horseback riding, cross country skiing, private land hunting or simply enjoying Woody Creek outside your back door, you will never need to leave this iconic ranch."
Built in the early 2000s by brothers Sam and Charles Wyly, who listed the property at $59.5 million in 2015 after filing for bankruptcy, the property was last sold in September 2018 at auction for $14.25 million. The current owner is a property development group based in Dallas, Texas, who made upgrades and improvements to the estate before listing it in December.
What do you think? Would you call this massive estate home? Which of the homes on the property calls to you? Sound off in the comments.
