Blue Pit BBQ

If you're in the Hampden neighborhood, this is the spot for mac and cheese. Along with brisket and baked beans, Blue Pit BBQ serves a tried-and-true mac worthy of a southern grandma's cookbook. Their "Four Cheese Mac & Cheese" combines four varieties of cheese and elbow noodles for a side dish that's gooey, creamy, and full of flavor. It also comes in three sizes—$4 for a bowl, $7 for a pint, and $11 for a quart. We recommend pairing it with their Bourbon Glazed St. Louis Pork Ribs and sweet tea.

Rocket to Venus

What makes a good mac and cheese? For us, it's the crumbly breadcrumb topping, which Rocket to Venus does to perfection. This gastropub on Chesnut Avenue offers eclectic American fare like burgers, sandwiches, and the tastiest baked mac. It features elbow noodles, a creamy three-cheese sauce, and herbs and chives. The cherry on top? A golden-brown breadcrumb crust. It's also reasonably priced at just $9, and foodies can get it through delivery or curbside pickup!

The Smoking Swine

When it comes to traditional barbecue, The Smoking Swine doesn't play around. They've been showcased on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives for their home-style meat platters and sides. "Slap Yo Mama Mac and Cheese" is one of the food truck's specialties—they go through 40 pounds of it every day during their lunch rush! It's comprised of cavatappi noodles with a tart three-cheese sauce, spices, and topped with Goldfish crackers. It's listed as a side, but let's be real, you'll wanna grab multiple helpings of the stuff!
