The popular Federal Hill Mexican joint opens this fall in Arlington with much foodie enthusiasm!

Baltimore favorite Banditos Bar & Kitchen is expanding its reach across the DMV with a location in Northern Virginia.

Washington Business Journal reports the Federal Hill establishment, which serves creative twists on Mexican staples, will debut in Arlington's Pentagon Row shopping complex this fall. The restaurant will join local eateries like Nighthawk Pizza, Bun'd Up, and Wild Tiger BBQ in the retail space, which is changing its name to Westpost at National Landing in efforts to modernize.

Developers say the new restaurant will measure 3,000 square-feet and feature outdoor seating, much like the original restaurant. Their specialties cover handcrafted cocktails, tacos, and a wide array of tequila. Its laid-back atmosphere encourages visitors to "come early and stay late."

"Banditos is our baby, that's the first one that really got us kickstarted and it's the concept that we're looking to push and grow," restaurant owner Sean White told Baltimore Business Journal last year. "That style of food, Mexican cuisine, is pretty loved by everybody."

But Banditos isn't stopping at Northern Virginia. Baltimore County will also be the recipient of a Banditos in White Marsh. Its location at shopping destination The Avenue is opening in the spring and is operated by White Oak Hospitality Group, which also claims local spots The Curious Oyster and the Wayward Smokehouse. The restaurant's move into NoVa was called the "next logical progression" for the business by White Oak's director of marketing Jenn Pak.

While Arlington residents will have to wait for their tacos and tequila, those in White Marsh are in luckā€”the restaurant has a tentative opening date of May 1, so stay tuned for that. You can also check out construction updates on Facebook.
