Get ready to wait in what might be the longest drive-through lane ever to exist.
Double-double fans in the Denver metro and south suburban everywhere were dreaming of double-doubles when In-N-Out announced plans to build a location in Lone Tree. The chain submitted its proposal to the Lone Tree City Council back in August, and it was unanimously approved earlier this week.
That means that the 3,867-square-foot restaurant, to be located at 9171 E. Westview Road, could be slinging burgers and fries by this time next year.
The restaurant will feature a drive-thru, and an outdoor seating area with a 1,300-square-foot canopy will also be available for a tasty meal on one of Colorado's famous sunny days, bringing the capacity of the entire restaurant to about 90 people. In addition, it plans to add three shifts-worth of job opportunities, with 15-20 employees per shift.
While approval was granted, this is not totally a done deal. In-N-Out has to provide plans to accommodate what is expected to be a whole lot of traffic during the initial timeframe of opening before a building permit is issued.

One way the chain hopes to control traffic problems is its planned drive-thru lane that could accommodate up to 26 cars at a time. That's a whole lot of people who I can only imagine will be thrilled to sit in one of the state's longest drive-thru lane ever. I'd like a double-double, animal-style with a side of road rage, please.
The original proposal estimated the opening date to be January 2021, but the chain is now predicted the store to open in late 2020. So, next year's holidays may just bring the most wonderful gift of all.
In addition to this In-N-Out location, another is currently being built in Colorado Springs and the chain also submitted a proposal for a location in Fort Collins.
