The barbecue chain is aiming for a Spring 2021 opening!

A new dining option will be opening up on Maryland's Eastern Shore, and its arrival could be a lot sooner than you think!

Salisbury, Maryland, will be home to a new location of Mission BBQ. According to SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate, the barbecue chain will reside at the Salisbury Promenade Shopping Center, whose existing lineup features retailers like Great Clips, Barnes & Noble, and Panera Bread. It's the restaurant's first-ever location in the region.

"We look forward to serving Salisbury," said Mission BBQ founder Stephen Newton in a statement.

The barbecue restaurant, which operates 91 locations across the country, serves smoky staples like pulled pork and brisket in a military-themed setting. Their tagline "The American Way" refers to their commitment to serving military members and their communities. Since opening its doors in 2011 (on the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks), the business has contributed $10 million to charities aiding military veterans and first responders. They frequently hire service members and are known for adorning their restaurants with patriotic memorabilia. Almost 20 restaurants alone reside in Maryland.

The chain will resume the space left behind by the latter business Panera Bread, which was re-located in a different area of the shopping center last year. One of the real estate firm's advisors, Tonney Insley, can be credited for bringing the restaurant to the region, along with the Aldi grocery store that opened in 2018. As to when customers can grab a mouth-watering plate of ribs, that time is on the horizon: developers are planning a tentative opening date in Spring 2021, so stay tuned!
