We ate SO much in 2019, and we're STUFFED!
It’s been a remarkable first year for the OCN Eats team and Larry Herz! We are closing in on 10K followers on Instagram, made 35 episodes of Restaurant Tours, filmed commercials for CBS4, went live on KWGN, participated as a judge at Chef Showdown, had dinner with a private chef at a Broncos house, started the DINE Influencers Group and went to 12 restaurants with them, and enjoyed a plethora of great meals.
Larry ate all over the metro area from the newest, hottest places to dive bars and everything else in between. Picking his favorite dishes is like picking his favorite kid—it's not possible. So, here you go! These are the dishes that you need to put on your things to put in your mouth list for 2020. LET’S EAT!
*You can read the list of restaurants/dishes below, or check them all out on the official OCN Eats Instagram:

Uchi Denver – 72-Hour Sous Vide Short Rib Sushi
This outpost from Austin in RiNo also garnered my best meal of the year. The short rib was the most tender, flavorful meat ... ever!
Angelo’s Taverna – Balsamic-Glazed Ribs (2 Locations)
There's the original, old-school location on 6th Ave. and the newest on Santa Fe. The ribs fall off the bone and the balsamic glaze is addictive.
Crush Pizza and Tap – Lemon Ricotta Sicilian Pizza
This place is in the Highlands and has 3 fantastic styles; hand-tossed, Sicilian, and Deep Dish. The Lemon Ricotta Sicilian is so light and airy, and you don’t even miss the red sauce.
Safta – Lamb Hummus
Alon Shaya brought his James Beard Award-winning talent from New Orleans to the Source Hotel in RiNo. The smoothest hummus ever, with a unique topping of a lamb ragu and crispy chickpeas, served with fresh-out-of-the-oven, life-changing pitas.
DC Pie – Brick-Oven Wings
This brick-oven pizza joint from Brooklyn makes a crispy pizza, but the real stars here are the wings cooked in the brick oven. The sauce is sweet and spicy.
Chicken Rebel – Firebird Spicy, Fried Chicken Sandwich
The best chicken sandwich I have ever had. They brine then sous vide the breast, and it's impossibly juicy and crispy.
Quality Italian – Chicken Parm Pizza
Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Hell, yes. They grind the chicken and form it into the shape of a pizza. Served with honey, and it's a wonder.
Steakhouse 316 (Boulder) – Bone Marrow, Filled With Steak Tartare
This second location of the Aspen-based steakhouse is a welcome addition to the Boulder dining scene. When you're done eating, this dish we used it as a luge. The manager poured a shot of rum into it and down Larry's throat, getting all the salt and fat with the alcohol. So memorable.
Maine Shack – Brown-Butter Lobster Roll
Larry was waiting for this place to open for quite some time, being an East Coaster. This is exactly what he was looking for in a lobster roll—amazingly fresh lobster.
Cart-Driver – Cart-Driver Pizza With Sausage, Kale, and Chili Flakes
They just opened their second location in the Highlands, but the original location is in RiNo. Plus, it doesn’t matter which pizza you get here, because they all have a perfectly chewy crust with just the right amount of char.
