The OCN Eats team recently visited Barbed Wire Reef to learn more about the restaurant and food truck business and, of course, try some delicious wild game!
What once started as a food truck has now found a home in Denver’s Berkeley neighborhood. And man, is this place is foodie heaven!
Tired of the same menu everywhere? Not a problem at Barbed Wire Reef. Specializing in wild game burgers and bratwursts, as well as seafood, Barbed Wire Reef serves up exotic meats you can't find anywhere else like kangaroo, antelope, alligator, camel, and rattlesnake, just to name a few. They also make a mean drink and have a beautiful patio right on 38th Street, as well as several food trucks in and around Denver that will pop up at various breweries and events. You can find the nearest Barbed Wire Reef's trucks here.
Barbed Wire Reef will also be opening a food hall this summer at Edgewater Public Market! There's truly nothing these folks can't do!
Insider Tip: Try the sausage party – elk, venison, rattlesnake, buffalo, wild boar, and alligator served with sauerkraut.
We met with Rico Aragon, chef and owner of Barbed Wire Reef, to learn more about the restaurant. Check out our review of Barbed Wire Reef below:
