A visit to The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar is a must this summer.

A unique milkshake bar is coming to downtown Ellicott City this summer. The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar, which is based out of South Carolina, is opening will be opening its first location in Maryland inside the old theater on Main St. The milkshake bar creates over-the-top milkshakes that feature toppings like cupcakes, cookies, and donuts along with the traditional sundae accouterments. The shop also has sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, and other sweet treats.

The new store in Ellicott City will be one of eight stores the company has opened in less than two years.

Created by Bo and Sherri Steele, the milkshake bar has become a tradition for both tourists and locals in the resort town of Myrtle Beach. Guests can choose from a variety of curated ice cream creations or build their own from the ground up. The “Have Your Cake and Eat it Too” shake is made with birthday cake ice cream, a blue marshmallow swirl, vanilla buttercream rolled in rainbow sprinkles, and topped with a mini cupcake, spiral lollipop, icing, and marshmallow sauce.

Each milkshake is definitely big enough to share and comes with a mason jar you can take home. The menu has more than 30 different shakes, including a shake exclusive to the Ellicott City location. Details on the shake haven’t been released yet but you probably count on it, including Maryland-centric things like crabs and the Chesapeake Bay.

Not a milkshake fan? Try an ice cream cup, crazy bomb ice cream sandwich, or the crazy waffle, a warm sugar pearl waffle topped with ice cream, and your choice of toppings.

An official opening date for The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar hasn’t been announced, but owners Robert and Erin Studer will be out and about in the community spreading the word ahead of the opening.
