Enjoy the lake life with a side of local beer! Lake Anna Taphouse is a family-friendly spot for classic bar food and dozens of tasty brews.

Whether you walk over, drive, or pull up in your boat, Lake Anna Taphouse is a waterfront restaurant the whole party can agree on. The little ones will love playing corn hole out back, and beer lovers can taste to their hearts' content before deciding on the perfect beverage.

The 4-glass tasting flight is just the right size for a single person. I tend to go for lighter, fruity beers, so the bartender helped me pick out a nice mix of local brews to sample. The Cobbler Mountain Cider Sandbar Sangria was by far my favorite of the bunch, with pineapple undertones and a refreshing, tropical flavor. If you find something that you love, you can buy it in cans or have a growler filled to enjoy later.

Wednesdays are for wings, so I had to give them a try. They come in several flavors and the Parmesan garlic wings were golden and crispy, drizzled with a mellow, garlicky sauce.

The star of lunch was a basket of loaded brussels sprouts. Perfectly roasted, they were crisp on the edges and topped with fresh Parmesan and real bacon bits. The tang of a balsamic glaze really elevated the flavor of this unique dish.
