As Halloween draws near, more and more candy will start to pop up on your local grocery store shelves.
So, in order to help you make the right decision when it comes to your trick-or-treat stash this Halloween, we've found out the exact type of candy that Washingtonians tend to gravitate toward the most.
And the result is ...
"M&M’s rule The District for the third straight year, melting over 26,000 pounds in their mouths, not in their hands. It isn’t really a state, but since people still trick-or-treat there, we included it in our study," stated the website.
Last year, CandyStore.com found out that Washingtonians were more inclined to buy M&M's, and the year before that, you guessed it, M&M's.
The top five nationwide winners were Skittles (No. 1), M&M's (No. 2), Snickers (No. 3), Reese's Cups (No. 4), and Starburst (No. 5). You can check out the remainder of the results by clicking HERE.
This year, the National Retail Federation has estimated that candy lovers will spend $2.6 billion on Halloween candy, according to Forbes.com. How insane is that?? That's a helluva lot of candy! I can feel the cavities starting to form already ...
