After 15 years, the sonic device company is calling it quits.

Beauty cleansing device company Clarisonic is closing down for good. The company has begun selling off all of its popular devices, brush heads, and skincare for 50 percent off. The last day the website will be in operation is September 30, 2020.

The sonic cleansing device was invented in 2004 to provide a deep clean experience for the skin. Initially, the devices were sold at dermatology offices and salons, before landing on the shelves at higher-end beauty retailers. The brand was purchased by L’Oreal in 2011 and has been expanded to include anti-aging and makeup application brush heads.

Clarisonic devices retail for between $99 and $269, depending on features and the attachments included. In the last several years, similar devices have come on the market at a much lower price point. In a statement on its social media page in mid-July, Clarisonic announced the closure.

“We want to thank all of our loyal customers, dermatologists, and retail partners who have helped put this brand on the map. It has been our absolute pleasure to serve you all these years.”
