You won't want to miss these!

So many cool things are happening in the DMV, it's making our heads spin. You won't want to miss this weekend's offerings, like ice skating at Cameron Run and the Crystalline art installation. And that's before we've gotten to the virtual events (pizza and wine dinner, anyone?) Here's your weekend roundup for Friday, January 15, to Sunday, January 17.

Artists' Gallery Winter Show | Artists' Gallery | 8197 Main Street | Ellicott City, MD | Ongoing

Need some peace and quiet? Swing by The Artists' Gallery at Ellicott City's charming Main Street for their annual Winter Show. Browse ceramics, watercolors, and other mediums made by local artists, and with over 25 artists on view, visitors will have no shortage of amazing creations at their disposal. Art is a powerful tool for turbulent times, and ARTECHOUSE's installation Crystalline aims for peace and meditation to usher in the new year. Inspired by 2020's Pantone Color Classic Blue, explore the serene shade through interactive displays, including a breath-taking castle glowing an icy blue. Winters usually leave us feeling, well, blue, but this immersive experience is certain to lift spirits! The exhibit runs through February 28 and general admission is $24. Virtual Wine Dinner | Stellina Pizzeria | Washington, DC | Sunday

Quarantine's got us dreaming of fancy dining, and Stellina Pizzeria is here to help! Enjoy a virtual feast this Sunday with the eatery providing the wines and four courses for you to indulge in. Guests will receive reheating instructions and a wine tasting guided by Fillipo Chia from a hilltop castle, no less! Chamber Music at The Barns: David Shifrin, Clarinet (Virtual) | The Barns at Wolf Trap | Vienna, VA | Sunday

Part of Wolf Trap's 'Front Row Series,' this concert series showcases amazing artists people can watch from the comfort of their homes. This weekend's selection is clarinetist David Shifrin, whose talent will be on full display through compositions by Mozart, Luigi Bassi, and Duke Ellington. For the cherry on top, there'll be a special Q&A at the end-you're going to want to tune in! The show is free of charge and will be available to watch through January 24. Check it out here.

Reptile Meet and Greet | National Aquarium | 501 E Pratt Street | Baltimore, MD | Ongoing

Reptiles are always a hit at zoos and aquariums-but have you ever seen them up close? Venture on a private tour at Baltimore's National Aquarium, where a reptile expert will show you the cold-blooded creatures in the flesh (turtles, snakes, lizards, oh my!) Our favorite winter tradition continues! Swing by Cameron Run's ice rink this weekend for an hour of pure skating bliss and grab some sweet treats to top things off-you can't go wrong with dipping dots or hot chocolate! Matthew Bourne's Cinderella (Digital) | John F. Kennedy Center | Washington, DC | Friday-Sunday

Missing the thrill of live entertainment? The Kennedy Center is re-airing older productions you can enjoy at your computer, and this week's pick is quite magical! Matthew Bourne's spell-binding production of Cinderella filters the classic fairytale through World War II London, combining song and dance to tell the story of love's power. It dazzled audiences back in 2019, and now audiences can re-live it again! The stream starts at 8 p.m. Friday and can be viewed through Sunday. Admission is $10. Buy your tickets here.

Twelfth Night Ball: Virtual Program | Riversdale House Museum | Riverdale, MD | Saturday

Twelfth Night or "Epiphanies Eve" celebrates the 12 days after Christmas, and Riversdale House formally invites you to celebrate virtually! The 18th-century mansion is hosting an evening of bespoke entertainment, from traditional music and dance to a candle-lit home tour. For added fun, guests can even dress up in their fanciest attire! The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and admission is $16 for Prince George's County residents and $20 for non-residents. You can find out more here.

Wonder Woman 1984 "Virginia is for Lovers" Drum Prop Display | Old Town Alexandria | 101 North Union Street | Alexandria, VA | Ongoing

Locals were thrilled by the Landmark Mall cameo in Wonder Woman 1984. Now props from the film will be on display! View a drum prop used in the film (with the state's famous slogan, of course) as well as film trivia located around Old Town Alexandria. Look out for a taped featurette with Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot! Film fanatics and Virginians alike. The prop will be on display through the month of February. Get the scoop here.

Dolphin Training Session | National Aquarium | 501 E Pratt Street | Baltimore, MD | Ongoing

Who doesn't love dolphins? See these majestic creatures up close with a behind-the-scenes tour! With their dedicated trainers as your guide, learn some enlightening facts about the marine species and the work that goes into caring for them.
