Annapolis’ First Sunday Arts Festival gives area residents the chance to enjoy fine arts and crafts, live music, and food trucks.

Since 2001, the free Annapolis First Sunday Arts Festival has been highlighting more than 100 artists on the first Sunday of every month, from May until December. With street performers, live music, dance, and food trucks, the free monthly festival (which takes place outside at West and Calvert Streets in downtown Annapolis) has become so large that West Street is usually closed during the event.
The next First Sunday Arts Festival will take place on November 5 and will be a special holiday edition -- an ideal way to start your holiday shopping! Every year, thousands of shoppers flock to Annapolis to purchase knitted scarves and hats, paintings, photography, books, fused glass, handmade jewelry, pottery, soaps, ornaments, candles, home décor, and more. Mall shopping can be quite stressful, but the First Sunday Arts Festival makes holiday shopping fun and enjoyable with the wide variety of unique items and live entertainment. Confirmed thus far are 130 artists, crafters, food vendors, and musicians. There will also be face-painting and a game room for kids so that the whole family can stay entertained. Performers include The Late Bloomers, garage-folk's Skribe, and internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Fred Hughes. The event is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and parking is available at several garages nearby. If you arrive early enough, parking is free at the State parking garage on 19 St. Johns Street.
