This one-of-a-kind celebration of all things "monster" is coming to Greeley on August 26. Monster Day will be full of creatures, artists, and much more.

Prepare for monsters and ghouls alike as they descend upon Greeley for the First Annual Monster Day. This unique event is for all ages and will be held in the heart of downtown Greeley on August 26. And no Monster Day would be complete without live monsters lurking about! Feel free to dress up in costume and enjoy as Distortions Unlimited -- the monster-making folks behind this incredible event -- have a couple of their impressive creatures on display and do some live painting demonstrations. And yes, while costumes are highly encouraged, it's being asked that people don't dress up in gory and scary costumes to keep things family-friendly. After all, it's a fun celebration, not a house of horrors! There will also be photo opportunities, movie showings (all kid-friendly), costume contents, face-painting, and so much more! Seriously, if you're a fan of the classic movie monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein's Monsters, or you're into the more modern monsters like the aliens in Alien and the eerie creatures in Pan's Labyrinth, there will be something waiting for you at this event. monster day
Itching to take the kiddos but aren't sure if it'll be too scary for them? Don't worry. The earlier activities of Monster Day will be family-friendly, so your little monsters can enjoy all of the fun without the frights. According to the event's Facebook page, "when some of the scarier monsters are out and about, kids who would rather have the visiting monsters keep a distance will be given a special monster repellent to empower them to keep the monsters at bay." The best part of this festival is the fact that all proceeds will benefit Don't Be A Monster, which is a non-profit that focuses on raising awareness about bully prevention and organizes various programs for students in 4th to 10th grades in schools across the country. Ed, Marsha and their crew create quality props, masks, and various creatures for haunted houses, theme parks, and other attractions. Ed and Marsha will also appear at your events, if you're interested. Simply follow this link, and you'll be directed to the appearance requirements page.
