Tis’ the Season for bundling up and watching things light up and people walk through streets! Check out these Colorado Holiday Parades and Light Festivals!
There’s plenty to do in our beautiful state during the most wonderful time of the year! One of the simplest joys of the season is bundling up with the family and seeing some Colorado holiday parades and spectacular lighting festivals!
Downtown Boulder’s Switch on the Holidays:
November, 20
Any given night on Pearl Street is pretty magical, but Switch on the Holidays is possibly the best night. Pearl Street becomes packed with people as live music fills the air and Santa counts down to the illumination of the famous street, courthouse, and of course star on top of Flagstaff Mountain.
Glow Holiday Celebration and Evening Parade:
November, 25
Truly kick off the Holiday season at Estes Park! Even though this is after Thanksgiving (literally a day…) this technical Colorado Holiday parade has carolers, pony rides, hay rides, shopping and of course Santa! When it starts to get dark turn your eyes to the Glow Parade. This parade will be a 45 minute lighting ceremony with bands, floats and dancers.
Pueblo Parade of Lights:
November, 26
This is a well established tradition in Pueblo. Onlookers bundle up in coats, hats and mittens to watch close to 100 lighted floats, antique cars and marching bands stroll by. This is a great Colorado holiday parade to bring the whole family to. After the parade, Santa is available to visit with the children.
Greeley Lights the Night Parade:
November, 26
Jump into the Holidays in Downtown Greeley! More than 40 lighted Colorado holiday parade entries make their way past families who picked out the best spots. After the parade, meet in Lincoln Park for carolers, and see the park’s trees light up!
Denver Parade of Lights:
December 2-3
There isn’t any other Colorado holiday parade like it. The Denver Parade of Lights is a spectacular event that you should definitely arrive early to so you can get a good spot. Watch the impressive floats, festive marching bands and tons of dance groups gather together for this great holiday celebration! If you’re not up for the cold, there will also be a live broadcast on 9News!
Colorado Springs Festival of Lights Parade:
December 3
Head to downtown Colorado Springs for the 32nd annual parade and lighting ceremony. Floats, high-school marching bands horseback riders and Santa (of course) bring the holiday spirit to this family favorite Colorado holiday parade!
Lighting of Breckenridge:
December 3
Join the Summit Choral Society as they sing timeless holiday carols. See the Race of Santa’s take over Breckenridge’s Main Street. Scarf up cookies and hot cocoa while watching the trees light up the night skies. Oh yeah, there is also a Bernese Mountain Dog parade… Absoultely doesn't get much better than that.
