Small Business Week Appreciation Week will take place April 30 - May 6. Check out all the events and celebrations happening all week!

Each year since 1963, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to shine a light on the impact small businesses have on our communities. Colorado Small Business Week is a week-long state-wide celebration giving local small businesses and community organizations the appreciation they deserve! Colorado has over 560,000 small businesses and half of our workforce is employed by small businesses. Colorado's Small Business Week will be filled with workshops, events and tons of festivities to celebrate Colorado's entrepreneurial drive! 2nd Annual Food Truck Cook-Off Location: Norris Penrose Event Center Sunday April, 30 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Cost: $15 pre-registered, $20 at the door

Sample food and vote for your favorite local food trucks as they compete for your tastebuds! There will be two awards: Judges Choice and People's Choice.

Trout Tank - Pitch Event for Social Impact Businesses Location: 1441 18th Street, Denver Colorado Monday, May 1; 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Colorado Leading Source and the Denver Metro Small Business Development Center are teaming up to host a "Trout Tank Pitch Event" focused on social impact businesses. Three businesses will be selected to present their ideas in front of the local lending, investing and business community. Judges will choose who's pitch will be awarded a cash prize to be donated to their favorite local charity.

5 Steps for Doing Business with the City of Denver Location: The Commons on Champa 1245 Champa St., Denver Tuesday, May 2; 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m 

This hour and a half training session will teach you the basics of doing business with the City and County of Denver. At this workshop, you will learn about the procurement of policies and procedures of the General Services Purchasing Division. On top of that, several other services and ordinances will be covered. Plus, learn the benefits of city certifications for small, minority and women owned enterprises.

Downtown Brighton Wine Tour Location: Downtown Brighton, CO Wednesday May 3, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Head to Downtown Brighton to mingle and shop while you sip! Participants of the wine tour will be provided with a map of all the participating businesses in the area, a wine glass, and each participating station will provide refreshments and of course WINE!

Board Match Happy Hour! Location: The Commons on Champa 1245 Champa St., Denver Thursday May 4, 5:00 p.m. 

Hosted by Metro Volunteers, head over to Commons on Champa to find a nonprofit board or a skilled volunteer position all while enjoying happy hour drinks and bites. This is a great event to connect with local nonprofits and volunteer opportunities in our community. small business week

Inspire Your Future Talent! Location: The Commons on Champa 1245 Champa St., Denver Friday May 5, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Learn how to make an internship work with your small business. College students are the future of the professional world, and interns are a valuable resource of new talent that can help grow your company. Learn how you can get some extra helping hands during the summer and help inspire young professionals!

As we said, there are a TON of events going on all week and even further into this summer season. If you're a small business and interested in learning a few tricks to the trade, Small Business Week is definitely a set of events you should not miss!
