Longtime fans of cult classic "Mystery Science Theater 3000" are sure to love the new live stage show, performing in Richmond on August 10.

For decades, the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" TV show (featuring the sarcasm and snark of a man and his robot companions giving hysterical running commentary on really cheesy B movies) has delighted audiences, developing a bit of a cult following. Along with its recent revival with a new season exclusively on Netflix, the Mystery Science Theater peeps have announced a live 26-city tour!

WHEN: Thursday, August 10, 2017, 8 p.m. WHERE: Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Arts Center, 600 E. Grace St. Richmond, VA

Mystery Science Theater The "Watch Out for Snakes!" Tour production will feature show creator/host Joel Hodgson and new host Jonah Ray, Jonah's robot companions (Crow, Tom Servo, and Gypsy), and Synthia and her Bonehead henchmen. Mads, Kinga Forrester, and Frank will appear via remote video.
The show's web site states:
The tour consists of two separate, completely unique shows, each with separate admissions. Fans wanting the complete tour experience should purchase two tickets, one for each show. Each event will include all the things expected from an MST3K experience: a cheesy B movie, hilarious riffing, wisecracking robots, silly sketches plus – for the first time – audience participation! Show # 1 is the MST3K favorite 'Eegah' featuring all new riffs and sketches.  Show # 2 is a 'Secret Surprise Film!' It’s a fun sci-fi thriller never-before-featured on MST3K and will appear only in select cities."
After a nearly 20-year hiatus, the original critically-acclaimed MST3K TV series was revived following a record-breaking #BringBackMST3K Kickstarter campaign. The new season became available exclusively on Netflix, on April 14. The show has been extremely well-received, earning a critics’ rating of 100 percent Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Tickets for the live stage show can be purchased online. For more information and a full listing of all the shows on the tour, visit MST3K's web site. It's bound to be a seriously funny evening you won't want to miss, filled with ridiculous and side-splitting laughs. Are you a huge MST3K fan like I am? Do you plan to go to the show? Tell us in the comments!

A moment of silence, please, for the TV shows we've lost this year ...
