The Colorado Miss Amazing pageant is an incredible opportunity for the community to celebrate girls and women with disabilities, helping them to re-gain some much-needed self-esteem!
Each young woman who participates in the Colorado Miss Amazing pageant on Sunday, March 4, will receive a crown, "because every girl to an extent in her own way is Miss Amazing, just by participating in the event and really pushing her limits,” the organization's website states. But first, the girls need dresses, accessories, and shoes -- and the event organizers need your help to get them!
[gallery columns="2" ids="27483,27482"]At the pageant, girls (ages 5 to adult) will dress up in their evening attire (complete with fancy makeup and hair!), and then participate in an interview process and talent show competition, all in a supportive environment that will celebrate their unique abilities, make them feel ultra-special, and ultimately build their self-confidence.
A few weeks before the big day, however, pageant participants will be given the chance to "shop" for their pageant outfit at The Princess Closet Dress Shopping Day in January. Girls' families buy the dresses, shoes, and jewelry for deeply discounted prices, with all proceeds going to make the pageant event bigger, better, and all the more memorable.
Colorado Miss Amazing organizers are currently in need of the following items to make their Princess Closet Dress Shopping Day complete and offer the biggest selection possible:
- Evening gowns (in all sizes, ages 5 to adult)
- Dress shoes (in all sizes)
- Jewelry
- 9" glass cylinder vases (50+)
So if you have any items in the back of your closet just begging for a new home (from prom, homecoming, cocktail events, pageants, etc.), contact Colorado Miss Amazing via their website. They will be accepting donations through the end of December!
