Denver Days 2016 Where: City & County of Denver When: July 30 - August 7 Who: Everyone

Denver Days is a family-friendly event that lasts 8 days and is designed to encourage neighbors to get out and connect with one another. Filled with block parties, picnics, and service projects, Denver Days is an opportunity for you to get out and get familiar with your community. Denver Days puts the festivities in the hands of the community. As long as it has a neighbor/community or service related premise, its more than welcome to become a part of Denver Days. Benefits of coordinating include waved park fees, free road blocking materials, and free advertising on the Denver Days website.

Tacolandia Where: Sports Authority Field @ Mile High When: August 14, 3-7 PM Who: All

One of the food festivals I’m most excited about has to be Tacolandia. This food extravaganza is the perfect mix of bringing people together and eating waaaaay too many tacos. For only $40, you can gorge yourself with samples from over 40 taquerias and Mexican restaurants around Denver. Aside from the taco party, Tacolandia attendees can enjoy a car show and a few (TBD) performances. But honestly I’m mostly in it for the tacos, lets be real.

Prospect Sound Bites Where: Prospect Park When: May 30 – September 15 Who: All

Food trucks, and drinks, and music… oh my! Every Monday night, May through September, you can bask in the afternoon sun while listening to free jams and munching on local food in Prospect Park. Over a dozen vendors circle the park with offerings of pizza, tacos, BBQ, burgers and so much more. Brought to you by a variety of cultures from Asian to Greek to good ol’ ‘Merican! You still have plenty of time to check this out. Just remember, any given Monday you feel like getting out, don't rule out Sound Bites.

Food Festivals

Taste of Colorado Where: Civic Center Park When: September 2-5 Who: All

A Taste of Colorado is the staple end-of-summer celebration, combining community pride and the true spirit of the Denver area. With over 500,000 people attending the four-day festival for their Labor Day activities, this food festival leaves nothing out as a well-rounded family friendly gathering. ToC is packed with over 50 local restaurants, 250 marketplace artisans and vendors, and seven stages of informative and educational programs. A Taste of Colorado was conceptualized to bring people together with food, fun, and education; the programs promote diverse cultural themes and Western heritage.

Festival Italiano Where: Belmar, Lakewood When: September 10 - 11 Who: All

Plenty of Parmesan and DON’T go light on the garlic. Festival Italino is known for providing the Denver area with some of the best homemade Italian specialties for guests. As a huge Italian food fan myself, this is one of my most anticipated food festivals. For two days you can enjoy great Italian food (duh), an awe-inspiring artisan marketplace, live entertainment and yes free chef tastings. This food festival is free and offers two stages of live music, chef demos, wine tastings, kids activities (stomping grapes!), a bocce tourney and even flag throwers flown in directly from Italy. Festival Italiano is definitely a testament to all that is Italian right in Denver.
