Ring in Hispanic Heritage Month with Fiesta D.C. -- a two-day celebration filled with parades, festivals, and fun events throughout the area.

Fiesta D.C., the largest Latino Festival in the region, will kick things off on Saturday, September 16, with the Parade of Nations. The parade, which will begin at the National Archives Building and end near 14th Street, will be filled with culture and excitement from various Latino countries -- specifically highlighting Panama as the featured country this year. The main stage (at the Museum of Natural History) will be filled with speakers, music, and dancing. The party continues on Sunday, September 17, with the Fiesta D.C. Festival! From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mt. Pleasant will be transformed into a fiesta! With close to 180,000 people attending annually, this festival brings people from all over the world into one area. Not only will there be traditional food and drinks on every corner, but there will also be booths with educational information.
Be sure to check out local artists' booths selling everything from traditional art to books. While it's certainly a celebration, the event is also an occasion to bring different groups and communities together.
