Local bands and D.C. DJs will be keeping everyone entertained as a second stage features local chefs and mixologists teaching you how to be creative in the kitchen. Besides tasting food and beverages from the famous Restaurant Row, you can also wander the Artisan Market for goods from local artisanal businesses. The Taste of D.C. is an amazing event for any foodie or anyone who just loves to eat.

What's the best way to get there?

Organizers want you to catch a ride in or take Metro to the Navy Yard stop. If you must drive in, use SpotHero to find a reserved spot close to the event. For more information, including links to the parking app and maps, visit the festival transportation page. Remember, it's at a new location (Audi Field) this year, so don't head to Pennsylvania Avenue hoping to find it!

How do I buy food and drinks?

Taste of D.C. is going cashless this year! Buy and load a TasteBand at the gate and use it like you would use carnival tickets for rides. Vendors will offer tasting portions and zap your TasteBand for payment. One Taste Token is equivalent to $1.

Pre-purchasing the TasteBand Package for $14.99 gives you early entry for an hour each day (5 p.m. on Friday, 12 p.m. on Saturday) as well as one TasteBand pre-loaded with one complimentary beverage from Restaurant Row.

The Foodie Package for $49.99 gives you everything from the TasteBand Package PLUS $30 worth of Taste Tokens pre-loaded on your TasteBand, exclusive seating at the Taste of D.C. Culinary Stage (first-come, first-served), and a $10 credit to upcoming Drink the District events.

View all of the concession packages and register for the event at the Eventbrite Ticketing page.

Other things to know before you go:

  • Only service animals are allowed on the festival grounds. Be prepared to show proper certification of service status.
  • Large bags and backpacks are prohibited unless they are clear and no larger than 12"x6"x12".
  • Organizers are hoping that pre-loaded wristbands will help with the long lines seen at previous events. Make sure you load your TasteBand at the gate or have your pre-purchased registration with barcode printed out to claim it when you arrive.
  • Everything is prepared on-site, so be patient! If you're going JUST for food, you probably want to get an early admission package to be sure your favorite restaurant doesn't run out of goodies.
