Heroes Day honors those that serve with a free ticket.

Attention members of the armed services (active and veterans) and first responders (Police, Fire, and EMT)! To thank you for your service, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park wants to give you complimentary admission, Saturday, Sept. 22.

You can get your ticket at the main gate by simply showing your issued badge. Friends and family discount tickets will also be available at main gate ticket window for $27.99 if accompanied by a first responder or member of the armed services. The free admission and discount tickets are good from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday only.

In addition, you can enjoy the musical stylings of the 101st Army Dixieland Band, which will be performing on the Big Wheel Stage from 12-2 p.m.

There’s something for everyone at this Mile High City amusement park, including 13 coasters and rides that will have you twisting and turning every which way, traditional family rides like the Ferris wheel, and pint-sized fun for the little ones.

turn of the century Elitch Gardens

Take a ride in the historic Turn of the Center swing ride.

Maybe you want to feel like you are flying while you soar 17-stories above the Denver skyline at 50 mph on the high-flying swing ride, the Star Flyer. Or perhaps take a chance to swing into history on the Turn of the Century ride, which was originally located at a park in France. If slow and steady is more your pace, check out the Elitch Gardens' Carousel, a fully restored 83-year-old treasure that features 67 hand-carved horses and chariots.

And a huge thank you to all of the men and women who have served or are currently serving our country. We salute you.
