Every year, the City of Golden puts on the popular Movies & Music in the Park series. We've got the August 2017 schedule!
Typically every year during the month of August, the City of Golden offers movie and music lovers the chance to enjoy free music and a family-friendly movie every Friday night. The movies are displayed on a huge inflatable screen under the beautiful Colorado night sky at Parfet Park. The movie series began back in 2002 as a simple movie in the park. However, by 2005, it turned into what it is today: Movies & Music in the Park, all thanks to the Golden Resource for Education, Art and Theater (G.R.E.A.T.). While the partnership with G.R.E.A.T. ended in 2011, many of its members are very much active in the series. Make sure you bring all the essentials for your movie viewing pleasure! Whether that be blankets, low-slung chairs, or even a picnic dinner if you arrive early. This is an alcohol- and tobacco-free event. Also, dogs are welcome, but please remember to keep your pup on a leash, and pick up after them.
Bands and performances start at 7 p.m., and the movie of the night will begin screening at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.).
