About the installation

This fun interactive art piece was conceived and brought over by the Toronto-based firm Lateral Office and CS Design, in collaboration with EGP Group. Sound design is by Mitchell Akiyama, mechanical design and fabrication of the see-saws is by Generique Design, and electronic design and fabrication are by Robocut Studio.

The piece is housed at The Grounds, an area where Crystal City and Pentagon City meet. It is a space sponsored by the Crystal City Business Improvement District and LCOR for building community interaction through activities and events.

Know before you go

  • There is plenty of garage and street parking in this area. I would recommend parking by Pentagon Row, visiting the art installation, then getting something to eat nearby.
  • Bundle up! This exhibit is all outside, and the area is not covered from the elements.
  • Please be kind and take turns -- especially if there are children waiting!
  • Don't be afraid to go by yourself -- this is a fun experience where you could make new friends.

Sarina Petrocelly
Born in Laos but raised in Haiti and South Florida, Sarina developed a taste for international cuisine at an early age. Now in Woodbridge, VA, she likes to explore the area for the best authentic dives, freshest local produce, and downright yummiest meals in the DMV. When she’s not out with friends or family, she's home with her musician/artist husband Tony and their Jindo, Hachi. She enjoys cooking and finding activities that can drown out heavy metal guitar riffs.
