  golden Chili Cook-Off & Beer Tasting: Saturday, October 15th, 2016 1:00pm – 4:00pm Let’s kick off the season of fall with some warm chili and a refreshing beer! It’s that time of year again.. The 9th Annual “Knock Your Boots Off” Chili Cook-Off & Beer Tasting event is finally here! So grab your spoons and mugs and get your tickets to this year's tasting! Proceeds of this tasty event benefit the Golden Chamber of Commerce community projects, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Purchase an armband and join other chili and beer lovers for an afternoon of chili and beer tasting, or enter your own recipe and see how it stacks up with other local chili cooks! Join other Cruise participants around 6 p.m. in the parking lot next to the library at 10th and Illinois to listen to music and drink beer. The cruise ride leaves at 7 p.m. to ride the paths of Golden on a pre-determined route. There will be stops along the way to socialize, and the cruise ends back at the parking lot, where there will be beer, music and food, and family fun available until 9:30 p.m. Don’t miss out on this fun and family friendly event! New Belgium Brewing Company will be pouring their fabulous Fat Tire Amber Ale and one other summer brew. Local bands will be serving up great music, and there will be food and fun for everyone! Visit all the stops in the Railroad Halloween Town to fill your treat bags and tickle your funny bones.  Visit the “not so spooky” haunted railcar and the Olde Railroaders silly graveyard. Get in the Halloween spirit and come experience the wonderful and spooky Halloween decorations at the Haunted Grange. Bring your kids, grandkids, or anyone young at heart to the Haunted Grange. You can look forward to games, refreshments, cake walk and more spooky fun! It’s not a true Halloween! So do not miss out on the Haunted Hayride this year! It starts at Miners Saloon Parlor, 1109 Miners Alley, Golden, CO 80401 at 7:00 p.m. Warm spiced cocktails (or un-spiked, if you prefer), pumpkin cupcakes, and ghostly tales kick-off your ride. Trail Boss Stacy and Psychic Troy Griffin set the ghostly stage for scary tales and haunted happenings of yore.
