Looking for something relaxing and fun to do on a hot Friday in D.C.? The National Gallery of Art has you covered with their Jazz in the Garden concert series.

Every Friday, the sculpture garden at the National Gallery of Art is filled with the rhythms of brass instruments, drums, and basses, as families, couples, and friends gather on the lawn to enjoy a picnic or snacks purchased from the Pavilion Cafe. Jazz in the Garden at Pavilion Café in the National Gallery of Art features an eclectic mix of jazz as performed by top Washington-area artists. During jazz concerts, the Pavilion Café offers a special menu of creative American cuisine and refreshments, including a beer and wine menu," the event's Facebook page states.
The event is FREE every time and features top local jazz musicians. Bring your own picnic spread, but please leave the alcoholic beverages at home! Security officers reserve the right to inspect all items brought into the Sculpture Garden. The cafe menu includes a famous Sangria and draft beer, as well as a number of snacks, sandwiches, and pizzas.
All concerts are subject to cancelation due to weather or extreme heat.
