Whether you like salsa, bachata, or swing; pole, partner acrobatics, or hoop dance, Interfusion Festival has a workshop for you.
The first weekend in September movers and shakers from all over the world will gather at the Westin hotel
in Alexandria, Virginia. September 1-4 will be the second installment of the movement-festival called Interfusion Festival; with over 100 unique workshops that are guaranteed to get your body moving, the festival is the largest of its kind in the U.S.
Representing genres of dance from all over the world, the diverse D.C. area is the perfect location for Interfusion festival. The workshop schedule includes dances you may have heard of: salsa, bachata, swing. Lesser known dances are also represented, like Zouk
, a fast-paced partner dance that originated in Guadalupe during the 1970s. Theres also the slower, more sensual Kizomba
, a genre of music and dance that originated in Angola.

If dancing with just your feet just isn't enough for you, you can check out a hoop dance workshop and learn how to twirl and spin gracefully to music. Maybe dancing on the ground seem too limiting? You can head to one of many pole dance workshops where you can learn how to defy gravity using only your muscles. If you're looking to take your dance routine to a new level, you can check out a partner acrobatics workshop. You might even need a gentle break from all that gyrating, and Interfusion has you covered with multiple meditation workshops offered throughout the event.

In addition to over 100 workshops from the best teachers around, the festival features nightly parties, live DJs, dances, and showcases. The shows often feature the incredible talent of the festival's instructors. Below is a stunning display of skill by one instructor, Margarita Kleese who teaches belly dance at the festival.
Its not all about dance, either
