Take the weekend to immerse yourself in art and culture with Penny Admission Denver Arts Week!

Beginning November 4-12 MCA Denver will be offering one cent admission for all Colorado Residents in honor of Denver Arts Week! There are currently three exhibitions to explore this weekend: Nathan Carter: Denver arts week Nathan Carter has his own solo exhibition, Ladies and Gentleman, Meet the Dramastics. This exhibit presents a dense display of sculpture, drawings, installations and miniature stage settings. All of the art is centered around the story of The Dramastics, a fictional girl band made up of four women. The exhibition features colorful, handmade sets from imagined milestones in the Dramastics’ legendary career. The Penny Admission Denver Arts Week will also include the artist’s film The Dramastics are loud AF accompanying the exhibition, which will be screened: everyday at 1:30 pm, also Friday’s at 7:30 pm, and weekends at 3:30 pm. Kim Dickey: Penny Admission Denver Arts WeekColorado-based artist Kim Dickey will be the first major survey of work the MCA has presented. Kim Dickey: Words are Leaves, opened on October 7th, and thanks to Penny Admission Denver Arts Week there is no excuse not to check it out yourself! The exhibit will be showcasing the ceramic works for which Dickey is known for, as well as other media ranging from textile to photography. The exhibition highlights the artist’s ongoing study of pattern and decoration, as well as her incorporation of landscape design and the history of the garden. Bodacioussss: Penny Admission Denver Arts Week Bodacioussss presents over twenty artists whose work is changing the definition of art, but also changing the ways in which art is made and consumed. These artists have moved fluidly through digital and physical worlds, fine art and commercial, and refined and contemporary styles. This exhibit provides a new perspective on what is commonly referred to as “post-internet” art by combining younger digital artists with a generation of artists who pioneered the informal DIY style of art making.   Generally speaking, Penny Admission Denver Arts Week is a great initiative to get locals interested and immersed in the arts. For just a penny, we can explore the minds and skills of various talented artists, right here in the city. What more could you ask for art lovers!?
