Love biking and looking for a serious challenge? Ride the Rockies Bicycle Tour will push you to extents you never knew possible.

If you didn’t already know, Ride the Rockies  Bicycle Tour is the ultimate biking challenge in Colorado. The Denver Post hosts this 447 miles long tour that spans across 7 days. This year’s ride will take place from Sunday, June 11, to Saturday, June 17. This year marks the 32nd year of the Rockies Bicycle Tour. Last year cyclists gathered from 49 different states and nine countries. While there are only 2,000 spots available for the tour (sign up ASAP!) the Denver Post expects over 2,300 applications to come in. This year’s tour will pedal through the cities and towns of Alamosa, Pagosa Springs, Durango, Ridgway, Montrose, Gunnison and Salida. As the tour kicks off in Alamosa, cyclists will explore the majesty of the Gateway to Colorado’s Great Sand Dunes. Gliding by the passes made historic by Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. Throughout the seven days cyclists will get to take in all the glory and beauty Colorado has to offer. Breathtaking views, challenging climbs, and speedy downhills all make up this amazing experience. According to the Denver Post, highlights of the Rockies Bicycle Tour will include: Wolf Creek pass, Pagosa Hot Springs, Yellowjacket Pass, the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Hesperus Hill, Coal Bank Press, Molas Pass, Red Mountain pass, Ouray Hot Springs, Cerro Summit, Blue Mesa Reservoir and Monarch Pass. Rockies Bicycle Tour Yeah. That’s a lot. But if you’re up for the challenge, the huffing and puffing of cycling through 447 miles of Colorado’s glory will be absolutely worth it.
