The Fourth of July is one of Richmond's most popular holidays. If you don't already have plans, don't worry. There's a ton of activities going on in the area. From family-friendly events to riverfront explosions to craft beer shows with live music, find your fix here. Richmond is a destination where you won't be bored this Fourth of July. Here's everything that's happening.

Richmond Flying Squirrels Game & Independence Day Dueling Fireworks Celebration

6–9 p.m. | The Diamond | Cost: $8
Baseball, beer, and fireworks! Family-friendly and definitely a good time for all ages. Buy tickets here.

Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Celebration

Dogwood Dell 4th of July Celebration

7:30–9 p.m. | Byrd Park | Cost: Free
Celebrate the Fourth of July with music by Richmond Concert Band with Carillon Bells and fireworks at Dogwood Dell. Free. Arrive early to get a seat within the Dell, and bring the family. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks at dusk. Pre-concert by the Richmond Jazz Band at 6:30 p.m.!

Rocketts Red Glare

Rocketts Red Glare

10 a.m.–10 p.m. | Ancarrow's Landing | Cost: Free
A free family-friendly event, open to the public, with activities, vendors, music, food trucks, craft beer offerings, and a pro beach volleyball tournament hosted by EVP Tour. Culminating with riverfront fireworks on July 4 at 9 p.m.! The event features glitter painting, a 6 p.m. parade, and tons of adult-friendly and kid-friendly activities. New Year'S Eve Leipzig Fireworks Fire Fire

Chesterfield County 4th of July Celebration

5–9 p.m. | Chesterfield County Fairgrounds | Tickets: $5
Celebrate Independence Day with a spectacular firework display at dark! The event, held at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds (across from L.C. Bird High School), includes an activity area for children*, food vendors and special entertainment. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets, or personal fireworks are allowed. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Limited parking; roads leading to fairgrounds will be closed when the parking lots are full. Don’t miss this fun-filled event for all ages.

Kings Dominion Star Spangled Celebration

Star-Spangled Celebration at King's Dominion

All Day | King's Dominion | Cost: $65 ; Free Admission for Military 
Kings Dominion will be decked out in red, white, and blue this Independence Day for their Star Spangled Celebration, June 30–July 4! Celebrate at the ultimate Fourth of July event all weekend long with energetic performances from local military bands and dazzling firework shows, plus all of your favorite rides. Kings Dominion is also honoring service members by offering FREE admission to the park for active and retired military, as well as veterans with honorable or medical discharge, and discount tickets for friends and family.

Smith Mountain Lake Fireworks & Fundraiser

3–10 p.m. | Parkway Marina | Cost: Free admission, $10 for activities
A family-friendly holiday tradition featuring food, live music, rides for the kids, and fireworks after dark. Gates open at 3 p.m., fireworks start at 10 p.m. Admission is free, but the event is a fundraiser for Saunders Volunteer Fire Company, and donations will be accepted. A fee will be charged per car.

Red, White, and Lights

4:30–9:45 p.m. | Meadow Farm Museum at Crump Park | Cost: Free
A Henrico County Fourth of July Celebration has taken place annually since 1981, but this year’s event will offer a later start time, expanded hours, and new entertainment. The free event begins at 4:30 p.m. and will feature the Richmond Symphony, a laser-light show, patriotic performances, and family activities. Food trucks will be onsite to provide an evening meal or snack while guests enjoy the evening performances. Red, White, and Lights is sponsored by Henrico County and Genworth.
