On November 9, the Baltimore Whiskey Festival comes to town with 60+ whiskeys to taste!

Whiskey can be a pretty expensive hobby. If you're going to go beyond the staple brands, you're going to pay a pretty penny on many of the best bottles. A few companies have come out with taste clubs that send you a few shots of different whiskeys every month, but that can sometimes become just as expensive. So how does one expand his or her whiskey palate? Buy by the bottle? Pay an arm and a leg at bars for a single glass? Well, the Baltimore Whiskey Festival is here to fill the gap. The Baltimore Whiskey Festival is scheduled to run on Nov. 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Engineers Club of Baltimore in the Garrett Jacobs Mansion (11 W Mt. Vernon Place, Baltimore, MD 21201). This is being billed as a must-attend event for every Whiskey lover. The rules are simple: purchase a ticket, show up in business casual attire, and then you'll have three hours to sample more than 60 different whiskeys from around the world and even attend free region- and brand-specific guided tasting seminars to expand your knowledge of the beverage. That's right, there will be SIXTY different whiskeys on hand for attendees to taste. There will be also be one table featuring the Founder's Finds, where you can sample whiskeys that cost upwards of $500 a bottle. The event's three seminars run every 45 minutes and will feature guided tastings of Irish whiskeys, Remy Martin, and small-batch bourbons. They're not messing around with their selection, either. You'll be able to sample whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Canada, and even Japan. To add a bit of variety, you will also be able to sample high-end rum, cognac, and vodka brands, in addition to entire tables dedicated to local Maryland craft-distilleries. In addition to unlimited tastings tickets also include a complimentary souvenir tasting glass. When they say unlimited, they really mean it, describing the whiskeys on hand as "all-you-care-to-taste." Though, all attendees are expected to drink responsibly. Food vendors will be on hand, so make sure you bring cash or a credit card. There will also be live music on hand to add to the ambiance, along with a shoe shine station to make sure you leave the event looking like a million bucks. You can purchase your tickets here. One ticket will set you back $69, but you can upgrade to a pair of tickets for just $20 more. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Spirit of Hope Children's Foundation. Be sure that you bring a valid photo ID with you because you will be carded before entering the event. If you can't make this event, don't worry. The organizers have also scheduled a DC Whiskey Festival in Union Market next year in early February.

Keep the celebration going at the Maryland Irish Festival, running from Nov. 10-12.
