Buying a car should be an enjoyable experience.

Not only was Buick the first of the big-three American automakers to earn J.D.'s "most reliable," they now have the best customer buying experience. According to the latest J.D. Power Sales Satisfaction survey, which sampled 29,000 new car buyers, Buick beat out Mini, GMC (which also gets high marks since Buick and GMC are often sold at the same dealerships), and Chevrolet.
The survey ranks brands on a 1,000-point scale and measures four different areas including the facility, the salesperson, the deal, and the delivery process. The study also reveals that positive pre-purchase interaction with the salesperson usually leads to high sales satisfaction, meaning that good old-fashioned customer service still takes the cake. The only dealership (of any brand) in the Denver area that doesn't charge a "dealer handling fee" (that we know of) is Suss Buick and GMC. Now, we all know that dealers must make some profit to stay in business, but we appreciate that Suss takes a straightforward "Southwest Airlines"-type approach and not the "Frontier" m.o. that other dealers have implemented. “Over the last five to ten years, the customer purchase experience has consistently gotten better," said Chris Sutton, vice-president of the automotive retail practice at J.D. Power. What are your thoughts? Do you drive a Buick and love it? Don't be ashamed! Let us know in the comments below!
