Denver International Airport is hosting a competition among Denver-area TV and radio stations to be the new voices for its train system. Competition closes on Nov. 30.
We've all heard them. The voices that welcome you to Denver International Airport and tell you that "the doors are closing" and to "please hold on." Now you could have the chance to be heard, to be the voice thousands of passengers hear as they board the trains to their gates. That is, if you are a Denver television or radio station personality. DIA will be replacing the voices of former Coors Field and Sports Authority Field at Mile High public address announcer Alan Roach and former 9News anchor Adele Arakawa. One man and one woman will be chosen. To be eligible, you must:- be a full-time reporter or anchor who covers news, sports, or weather at any Denver television or radio station
- have at least seven years of experience in the Denver media market
- be a respected personality within the Colorado news, weather, or sports communities
And just as a heads up if you are considering entering, you can't nominate yourself. A member of your management team has to nominate you instead.
Audio Script:
"Hello, and welcome to Denver International Airport."
"Board here for all A, B and C Gates."
"The doors are closing, please keep clear and hold on for departure to all A gates."
"Please hold on, we are approaching the station for all A gates."
"A train is arriving. Please keep clear and hold on for departure to all B gates."
"Board here for all A gates, terminal, ground transportation and baggage claim."
"This is the terminal. All passengers please exit and follow signs to ground transportation and baggage claim."
Finalists will be featured on Denver International Airport's website for public voting.
