Denver International Airport ranks 7 out of 10 for worst designed airports in America!
I think I can speak for everyone here when I say that everybody LOVES THE D.I.A. SECURITY LINE. All jokes aside, it turns out that Denver International Airport really is as miserable and painful as you thought. Built and completely finished in 1995, our beloved airport is still one of the more recently-built departure points. [gallery ids="18489,18487"] Yes, it does have its perks, such as the largest solar generation system out of any U.S. airport. But the fact that it is larger than the island of Manhattan is terrifying in and of itself. Since it is such a large airport, more people come in and out on a daily basis (hence allowing transplants to move here, need I say more?). Regardless, the 54 million annual passengers and all of their baggage have to go somewhere! This is what makes it nearly impossible to get your bags on time, if at all. The so-called "impressive baggage system" that cost hundreds of millions of dollars only takes up space.
In fact, your bag most likely will disappear in an airport the size of Manhattan. According to a DIA insider, “When the airport is that large and spread out, it takes that much longer to get the baggage from one end to the other, which also allows for more opportunities for your baggage to get lost as it falls out of the cart.” There you have it -- traveling is just as stressful as you thought.
